With the generous backing of sponsor Life Lan, Empowered Human Tribe (EHT) is set to host a series of free local events designed to foster community engagement and support mental health. These events will include fun activities such as sip-and-paint evenings, game nights, and craft sessions, all aimed at promoting mental wellness and connection within the community.
Founded by mental health advocate Adeshina Adesokan, EHT is driven by a mission to make mental health resources accessible to everyone. “My journey from struggle to strength taught me that no one should face their challenges alone,” said Adeshina. EHT is dedicated to providing resources and support to individuals, helping them turn personal challenges into opportunities for growth, while fostering a sense of community.
A Range of Resources to Support Mental Health
EHT offers a diverse array of resources designed to inspire and support individuals in their mental health journeys. These include daily affirmations, a podcast featuring expert interviews and personal stories, masterclasses, and community outreach projects. By offering these resources, EHT strives to empower individuals to take control of their mental health and to build resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
Adeshina’s Personal Journey to Creating EHT
Adeshina’s story is one of resilience, transformation, and giving back. His journey began at the age of 15 when he moved from Nigeria to the UK. Faced with cultural disconnection, anxiety, and a loss of confidence, he struggled with isolation. However, during his time at university, fitness became a key tool in rebuilding his self-esteem. This newfound confidence led him to establish a fitness society at Kent University, where he was awarded ‘Best Student of the Year.’
The support Adeshina received throughout his journey inspired him to create EHT, a platform that provides individuals with the resources, encouragement, and community needed to tackle their own mental health challenges.
Raising Funds for Africa
In addition to his work with EHT, Adeshina is running his first marathon to raise funds for important projects in Africa. He expressed, “I may be miles away from Nigeria, but my heart has never left. Running 26.2 miles is not just about covering distance; it’s about running for hope, empowerment, and the chance to make real change.” The funds raised will support several initiatives, including tackling hunger, aiding survivors of gender-based violence, creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and enhancing education and community development.
Donations for this cause can be made by searching for “Running to Empower Africa: 26.2 Miles of Transformation” on GoFundMe.
Upcoming Retreat in India
As part of its global outreach, EHT will also be hosting its first retreat in India this November. In collaboration with yoga teacher Laura Read from The Good Mood Club, the retreat will include wellness activities, mental health workshops, and cultural experiences. This retreat promises to offer attendees a holistic approach to mental health and well-being, combining physical, mental, and emotional wellness practices.
Adeshina’s commitment to both local and global communities is evident through his tireless efforts to create a supportive, empowering environment for individuals to thrive. Through EHT and his personal initiatives, he continues to inspire and uplift others, providing valuable mental health resources and creating opportunities for growth and healing.
