Framingham, MA – Ellie Mental Health is excited to announce the grand opening of its new clinic in Framingham, a central location in the heart of the MetroWest area. Set to open its doors on November 1, 2024, the clinic is the latest addition to Ellie Mental Health’s growing network, dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality mental health services to individuals and families.
Serving the MetroWest Community
Jenn and Doug Collins, the owners of Ellie Mental Health Framingham, are both long-time residents of Framingham and are passionate about meeting the mental health needs of their community. Their goal is to make mental health care more accessible and reduce the stigma surrounding it.
“Jenn and I wanted to create something truly meaningful and impactful within the MetroWest community where we live and work,” said Doug Collins, co-owner of Ellie Mental Health Framingham. “By opening this clinic, we’re investing in the well-being of our MetroWest neighbors and helping to break the stigma surrounding mental health.”
Located on Speen Street in Framingham, the clinic will offer a wide range of services, including outpatient mental health therapy, neuropsychological testing, educational evaluations, and cognitive assessments such as ADHD evaluations. The clinic is designed to be a welcoming, inclusive space for individuals of all ages in need of support.
Addressing Growing Mental Health Needs in MetroWest
Framingham and the surrounding MetroWest region have seen a growing demand for mental health services. According to the 2023 MetroWest Health Foundation’s community survey, the number of mental health providers in the area is not enough to meet the needs of residents. In particular, data from the CDC’s PLACES dataset shows that more than 10% of adults in the region report poor mental health for 14 or more days each month. Additionally, the 2021 MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey revealed a troubling rise in anxiety and depression among local teens.
“This clinic will help fill a critical gap in mental health services in MetroWest,” said City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky. “We are grateful to have a local husband-and-wife team opening Ellie Mental Health here in Framingham, as the need for mental health providers in the area continues to grow.”
Building Strong Local Partnerships
Ellie Mental Health Framingham is also committed to fostering strong community ties. As active members of the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, the clinic’s leadership aims to collaborate with local organizations and raise awareness of mental health resources available in the region.
“We’re excited to work with other local organizations and make a lasting impact in Framingham and the surrounding towns,” said Jenn Collins. “Our goal is to serve as a central hub for mental health care, not just in Framingham but in Natick, Ashland, Sudbury, Sherborn, Southborough, Wayland, and beyond.”
In recognition of its efforts to expand access to care in the region, Ellie Mental Health Framingham was honored with a Small Business Citation from the Massachusetts Senate President’s Office.
Creating a Supportive Environment for All
The clinic is designed to be a supportive and inclusive environment where people can receive the mental health care they need in a safe, non-judgmental space. Clinic Director Sarah Prevelige emphasized the clinic’s commitment to empowering individuals to prioritize their mental health.
“We are beyond excited to open our doors and make meaningful connections with those who need support,” said Prevelige. “Our goal is to create a space where people feel safe, understood, and empowered to take charge of their mental health.”
Ellie Mental Health Framingham’s opening is a significant step toward meeting the growing demand for mental health services in MetroWest and is expected to make a lasting impact on the community by providing essential support for individuals, children, teens, and families facing mental health challenges.
Looking Ahead
As Ellie Mental Health Framingham prepares to open its doors in November 2024, the clinic’s leadership is excited about the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of MetroWest residents. With a comprehensive range of services, a welcoming environment, and a commitment to building strong community partnerships, the clinic aims to be a trusted resource for mental health care in the region for years to come.
