Chegg, Inc. (NYSE: CHGG) has announced the return of its third annual Global Student Mental Health Week, scheduled from February 24 to March 2. The week-long initiative will be supported by leading global organizations, nonprofits, educational institutions, and influencers, with this year’s theme, “In It Together,” emphasizing the importance of supportive networks and collective experiences in promoting student mental well-being.
The event aims to encourage college students to prioritize mental health while sparking critical discussions around how policymakers, higher education institutions, and communities can offer better support for emotional wellness among students. By fostering an environment of understanding and support, Chegg hopes to elevate the global conversation around student mental health.
Earlier this week, Chegg released the findings of its latest Global Student Survey, which surveyed 11,706 undergraduates across 15 countries. The survey uncovered concerning trends regarding the mental health challenges faced by students worldwide, underscoring the urgent need for systemic change in how student well-being is addressed. These findings further highlight the significance of initiatives like Global Student Mental Health Week, which are designed to offer tangible support to students in need.
Key Mental Health Insights from the 2025 Global Student Survey
The survey revealed an alarming increase in mental health concerns among students, which has made the conversation surrounding student mental health more critical than ever. Nathan Schultz, President and CEO of Chegg, emphasized the importance of these conversations, saying, “At Chegg, we believe that supporting student mental health is not just the right thing to do — it is essential for empowering students to thrive both academically and personally. We are proud to bring Global Student Mental Health Week back for a third year and are thankful to our partners for their commitment to supporting students in this important endeavor.”
Schultz added that the “In It Together” theme is designed to demonstrate that strong support networks—whether from peers, family, campus services, or digital resources—are vital to maintaining student mental health.
Partnerships to Drive Awareness and Action
This year, Chegg is collaborating with several notable nonprofits and organizations, including Active Minds, The Jed Foundation (JED), Born This Way Foundation, Big Change, and others, to strengthen the message and impact of the week. Additionally, partnerships with universities such as Albany State University and Clemson University’s Social Media Listening Center will help amplify student voices and foster a broader dialogue about the mental health challenges students face.
As part of the initiative, Chegg has also partnered with influencers, global student leaders, and the Chegg.org Global Student Prize finalists to reach a wide audience. Events and resources throughout the week will focus on educating both students and key decision-makers about the pressing mental health issues affecting today’s youth.
Endorsements from Mental Health Leaders
Dr. Zainab Okolo, Senior Vice President of Policy, Advocacy, and Government Relations at JED, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are excited to join Chegg once again to emphasize the importance of creating communities of care for students. Global Student Mental Health Week provides an essential platform for students to know they are not alone, and it gives us an opportunity to discuss how best to support their mental well-being.”
Laura Horne, Chief Programming Officer at Active Minds, echoed this sentiment, saying, “This initiative is a powerful reminder that we are all in this together. By partnering with Chegg, we are amplifying the voices of students around the globe and reinforcing the importance of collective care. Together, we can ensure that every student has access to the resources they need to succeed.”
Student Voices on Mental Health and Support
Ángela Elena Olazarán Laureano, the 2024 winner of the Chegg.org Global Student Prize, also highlighted the importance of peer support and community involvement. Laureano, an information technology student at Anáhuac University Veracruz, shared, “Through robotics competitions, I have seen firsthand the power of peer support. I am honored to be part of Global Student Mental Health Week this year and am proud of my fellow Chegg Changemakers. Their dedication to building meaningful communities and resources for students is inspiring, and I encourage students everywhere to raise awareness of this vital issue and have their voices heard.”
Global Student Mental Health Week offers an opportunity for students, educators, and organizations to come together, discuss mental health openly, and work towards creating a more supportive environment for future generations. Through collective efforts and shared understanding, Chegg and its partners aim to make lasting strides in addressing the mental health needs of students worldwide.
