MAYVILLE, N.Y. – Carmelo Hernandez, the Director of Community Mental Hygiene Services and Commissioner of Social Services for Chautauqua County, has announced an exciting opportunity for local residents to access enhanced mental health resources through New York State’s newly launched mental health initiative, Be Well NY (bewell.ny.gov).
The initiative is a key component of the state’s ongoing effort to improve mental wellness across the region, ensuring that individuals have the support they need for their mental health and well-being.
“I am pleased to share that Chautauqua County residents now have another layer of mental health support available to them through the Be Well NY initiative,” said Hernandez. “This program will offer critical resources that help remove the barriers to care, providing people with the tools they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives.”
Be Well NY provides an easy-to-use platform that offers valuable information and resources aimed at managing stress, addressing trauma, and improving overall mental wellness. The site also highlights access to the 24/7 National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, 988, ensuring that individuals can receive immediate assistance in times of need.
By bringing these resources to Chautauqua County, the Be Well NY initiative underscores the state’s commitment to expanding mental health services and improving the quality of care available to residents throughout New York.
