It’s graduation season again soon, and many college graduates are already on their way to the workplace.
But you just entered the workplace, whether or not is ignorant, do not know how to deal with oneself, and how to get along with your colleagues?
Today, I’m going to give you some tips on how to survive in the workplace and how to manage relationships with your colleagues.
There are two things to focus on when you first enter the workplace: 1. Treat every job you get as temporary.
90 per cent of the workforce (at least in the US) is not self-employed, so you are likely to end up working for someone else.
How long that job lasts is up to them, not you.
Your work can stop at any time they want, without warning.
This is true to some extent, now more than ever.
It depends on the nature of the current job market.
2. Treat every job you get as a learning opportunity.
By its very nature, every job you find today is in almost constant motion and change, so fast that you have to look at the job you are looking for as a learning experience, as an enrollment in a class.
If you want to make it your dream job, you must enjoy learning new tasks and workflow.
Grasp the psychology of the workplace, and emphasize to every potential employer during your interview how keen you are to learn new knowledge and skills, and how fast you learn them.
3. Treat every job you get as an adventure.
Most of us love adventure.
An adventure means a series of unpredictable and mysterious events.
That’s today’s work!
Power…
Desire…
The wrong choice…
Strange alliance…
Betrayal…
In return…
And so on.
Suddenly, a change that no one could have foreseen unfolds before your eyes.
If you see it as your dream job, approach the unpredictable with enthusiasm and with excitement rather than fear.
1. Don’t say “Could have been…”
You and your conversation partner have different opinions about something.
“I would have taken a different view,” you say lightly.
A seemingly insignificant little word, but not only did not highlight your position, but let you have no position.
Use phrases like “indeed” and “strictly speaking” to simply say, “I have a different opinion on this.”
2. Ingratiating Yourself When you’re alone with your boss you need to maximize your ingratiating skills.
This is a great time to make yourself look good.
But what to say?
At this point, it’s best to ask a thought-provoking question about the company’s future.
Not only will you benefit a lot when he pours out his thoughts, but you will also impress him with your eagerness to learn and make progress.
3. Avoid arguments It is normal that young people often like to argue with each other.
We will find that these arguments often end in a flush and unhappiness.
As it turns out, whoever loses will be uncomfortable, not to mention the fact that arguments often devolve into direct personal attacks, which can be very damaging to relationships.
Therefore, the best way to resolve differences in views is to discuss and negotiate, not to argue.
4. Stop saying “Let’s be honest.” Suggestions are discussed during company meetings.
So you say to a colleague, “Honestly, I think…”
It may seem to others as if you are stressing your sincerity.
Of course you are sincere, but why make a point of it?
So it’s better to say, “I think we should…”
5, clever report bad news who do not want to hear bad news, sometimes even hate the report of bad news.
Rushing into your boss’s office with the bad news will only make him question your ability to handle the crisis, if not ruin it for you.
At this point, you should say this sentence pattern in an unemotional tone. It will make your boss feel that the situation is not unsolvable. It will sound like you will be on the same side as your boss.
Why will be more impetuous at the beginning of the workplace, especially for college students just out of school, because just stepped into the society, the social reality and career understanding is not clear, so, to treat this period of impetuous to have a full understanding.
This kind of work impetuous reasons, mainly based on the following aspects: 1.
Although the current college students are very aware of the serious employment situation of college students, they still have some ideal ideas in the work. They hope that the company they work for should have a large scale, high visibility, standardized management and large growth space.
However, the reality is how many people can enter the big company to engage in the senior white-collar job, even the big company in the management will have this and that problem, is not as perfect as you imagine.
More graduates will enter some small and medium-sized enterprises to work, where there will be more such and such maladaptation, there will also be more problems, especially generally let college students start from the bottom of the work, engaged in some simple and boring work.
In this case, there is a big gap between them and their ideal job, so there will be some job-hopping.
2.
College students who have just entered the workplace tend to show a very positive and passionate work attitude when they first join the job.
From their first day on the job, everyone had an ambition to stand out as soon as possible and get to the management level of the company.
It is good for college students to have ideal and fighting spirit, and it is also normal for them to pursue and yearn for success. However, they must adjust their mentality well and not rush for success. They should dream of being the best in all aspects in the shortest time so that the boss can give them an important leadership position as soon as possible.
However, once their efforts in the short term, did not immediately get a return, will think that the company does not attach importance to talent, no Bole, there are problems in the management of talent, as if they work here without a future.
In this case, some people will have the idea of job-hopping.
I do not know that the old employees who work here do better than you now in terms of both their ability to work and their experience.
Maybe you are the next potential stock, maybe the leader will be in your examination for a period of time, will let you engage in more and more important jobs, but because of a eager mentality, let success and you miss.
3.
In the process of communication between college students and their classmates, many of them show their dissatisfaction with the current job, and even don’t understand the resignation of others. They think that how can such a good job leave the job, which is a “siege” mentality.
People on the inside want to get out, people on the outside want to get in, every mountain looks higher.
People have been thinking outwards instead of thinking inward, thinking about themselves in terms of corporate and social realities.
When this impetuous state of mind, have you seriously thought about whether it is their own problem or the problem of the enterprise?
Settle down and do it for a period of time. When you really integrate into the enterprise and do it for a period of time, maybe you will find your position again and find your value.
If after working for a period of time, you find that this kind of job is not suitable for you, then you can choose again. In this way, you can at least have a clear understanding of what kind of job you should look for next, so that your choice is not blind, so that you can have a better life choice.
