Johnston, Iowa — The recent NAMI Iowa walk has successfully raised over $159,000 to bolster mental health services across the state. The event took place on Saturday in Johnston, drawing participation from more than 1,000 registered participants spread across 90 teams.
KCCI also contributed to the event, with reporter Alyx Sacks serving as the emcee. According to Jamie Stokka of NAMI, fundraising efforts will continue for an additional 30 days, with a goal of reaching $200,000.
This initiative aims to enhance support for mental health programs in Iowa, reflecting the community’s commitment to improving mental health awareness and services.
