(WHTM) — As National Suicide Prevention Month draws to a close, a national nonprofit with a presence in Pennsylvania is reaching out to veterans in need of support. Hope For The Warriors, founded by military families at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in 2006, aims to assist veterans transitioning to civilian life by offering resources such as financial aid, housing, employment, and healthcare.
In Pennsylvania, the organization also provides crucial mental health support services and peer support. “The most effective approach is to establish protective factors early, before someone transitions out of the military, helping them learn how to access various supports,” stated Brianne Sampson, Director of Clinical Support and Wellness.
Additionally, Hope For The Warriors extends its services to combat-wounded service members, their families, and the families of those killed in action, ensuring comprehensive support for those who have served.
