Rochester, N.Y.— A new initiative in Rochester aimed to make fitness enjoyable while emphasizing the vital connection between physical and mental well-being. MVP Health Care partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for the inaugural Fitness Court Challenge.
Participants gathered at Cobbs Hill Park Fitness Court, engaging in seven fitness stations designed for an active, outdoor experience. For each registered participant, MVP pledged a $5 donation to NAMI NYS, up to $1,000, supporting families affected by mental illness.
“It’s going to a good cause,” said Margaret Leonardo, leader of MVP Health’s promotion team. “We want to encourage healthier lifestyles while fostering a sense of community.” Attendees enjoyed raffles and prizes, all while learning how fitness can help reduce anxiety and alleviate depression.
