ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — UnityPoint Health is actively seeking to fill nearly 100 vacancies across its Robert Young Center and Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. teams. To address this staffing need, the organization will host an in-person hiring fair on Thursday, September 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will take place at the Robert Young Center Community Support Program building, located at 2200 3rd Avenue in Rock Island.
The hiring fair will feature on-the-spot interviews for a variety of roles, including:
- Behavioral Health Technicians
- Care Coordinators
- Licensed Counselors
- Mental Health Professionals
- Registered Nurses (RNs)
- Peer Recovery Specialists
- Social Workers
- Substance Use Disorder Counselors
Candidates interested in attending should bring a resume and are encouraged to apply online in advance. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their work experience, career goals, and relevant training during the interviews.
The urgent need to fill these positions stems from recent developments at the Robert Young Center. In June 2024, the center was selected to participate in the federal government’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) demonstration project. This initiative aims to enhance and broaden access to mental health and substance use services across the country, with increased funding directed to participating programs.
“To effectively meet the rising demand for mental health and substance use disorder services, both locally and nationally, we need to expand our team,” said MaryAnn Halpin, manager of community-based services at the Robert Young Center. “The Quad Cities and Muscatine region are no exception, and we’re committed to addressing these needs with qualified professionals.”
Mary Petersen, Chief Operations Officer at the Robert Young Center, highlighted the organization’s significant regional presence. “We are the sole Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in the Quad Cities/Muscatine region. We are eager to welcome talented and compassionate individuals to our team,” Petersen said. “With our clinics and treatment programs spanning Rock Island, Mercer, Muscatine, Scott, and Clinton counties, there are ample opportunities for career advancement within our organization.”
