Kate Spade New York is set to make a significant philanthropic leap with the launch of its Fall 2024 campaign, introducing the new Global Fund for Women’s Mental Health. The campaign, which debuts on September 3, will feature a short film showcasing actresses Nicola Coughlan, Taraji P. Henson, and Marsai Martin, all of whom support the initiative aimed at advancing mental health resources for women.
Nicola Coughlan expressed enthusiasm about the campaign’s dual focus on fashion and social impact. “A campaign like this is so fun and beautiful and joyful, but the fact that it’s going to have a real social impact is so huge and so important,” Coughlan said. “It’s crucial for me to contribute to a cause that’s significantly impactful. If my work can bring joy while also making a difference, that’s a wonderful thing.”
The Global Fund for Women’s Mental Health, a decade in development, represents a major expansion of Kate Spade New York’s social impact efforts. According to Taryn Bird, the brand’s Executive Director of Social Impact, the company has already invested over $31 million in global mental health initiatives. This fund will continue to support programs specifically focused on women’s mental health.
“Women’s mental health remains heavily stigmatized and underfunded,” Bird stated. “It’s an issue that demands not only support and destigmatization but also significant philanthropic investment to provide essential services. This is a global concern, not confined to North America alone.”
The initiative will be inaugurated with the third annual Global Summit on Women’s Mental Health, scheduled for September 5 in New York City. The summit will feature discussions with Henson, Martin, and actress Sofia Wylie, highlighting the critical importance of mental health advocacy.
On the fashion front, Kate Spade New York’s Fall 2024 collection will include a relaunch of the Spade Flower Jacquard assortment. This collection pays homage to the brand’s heritage while integrating their core design elements.
Jennifer Lyu, Senior Vice President and Head of Design at Kate Spade New York, commented on the collection, saying, “We aimed to merge our design codes with our purpose. This collection celebrates our timeless designs and iconic branding, reflecting our dedication to elevating every aspect of our brand.”
Kate Spade New York’s full Fall 2024 campaign will be globally available starting September 3.
