PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg State University (PSU) has introduced a new resource for students seeking mental health support: free, online counseling services available around the clock.
The initiative, powered by Telus Health, offers students access to a range of telehealth services designed specifically for college populations. Telus Health, a leading provider in the field, partners with universities across the United States to deliver comprehensive mental health care.
By logging in with their PSU credentials, students can access counseling services 24/7. They can choose from chat, phone, or video sessions with master’s level counselors, ensuring privacy and flexibility in their interactions.
Telus Health services address a variety of issues, including adjustment to college life, academic success, relationships, and personal well-being, covering areas such as eating and sleeping habits, stress, anxiety, and loneliness.
For those preferring in-person support, the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, located at the Bryant Student Health Center, continues to offer traditional counseling during its operating hours. Deatrea Rose, Associate Vice President of Inclusio & Belonging, noted, “While the health center provides valuable in-person counseling, we recognize that students may need support outside of regular hours.”
The new service expands access to a diverse array of therapists, available in five languages—English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Cantonese—with additional language options through appointments.
Students will soon encounter promotional materials throughout the campus featuring a QR code. Scanning the code will direct them to download the Telus Health app on their iPhones or Android devices, enabling them to easily access these services.
