A new mental health awareness campaign targeting young men has been rolled out across Jersey’s pubs. The initiative, titled “Don’t Bottle It Up,” is a collaborative effort between Thrive Jersey and Switch Digital, designed to support individuals facing mental health challenges during the summer months.
Recent studies indicate that the risk of suicide among men aged 15 to 34 peaks during major sporting events, prompting the need for this timely intervention. To address this, beer mats featuring essential mental health resources will be distributed throughout pubs on the island. These mats will provide information on local charities and community groups that offer support.
Lynne Capie, Chief Strategy Officer at Switch Digital, emphasized the campaign’s strategic focus. “Our goal is to deliver crucial information to our target audience precisely when research suggests there will be an increased need for support,” Capie explained.
