VermontBiz — With a legacy spanning nearly two centuries as a non-profit psychiatric hospital, the Brattleboro Retreat proudly announces the launch of its latest educational outreach initiative: the Unravelling podcast. This new series aims to deepen the dialogue on mental health by exploring its often-overlooked complexities, providing a more nuanced perspective than typically found in public discourse.
Unravelling is hosted by therapist Kurt White and journalist Mary Wilson. Each bi-weekly episode will tackle a challenging mental health topic, starting with an in-depth look at the mental health needs within the transgender community. The podcast will feature insights from both professionals and individuals with lived experiences.
The inaugural episodes will include interviews with the Retreat’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Karl Jeffries, who brings both personal and professional advocacy experience for the LGBTQIA+ community, and Dallas Ducar, a prominent leader in transgender healthcare and a trans woman herself.
The Unravelling podcast seeks to foster a more compassionate and informed perspective on life, whether listeners are trying to understand the world around them or their own mental health journey.
