Eva Mendes has opened up about the importance of expressing emotions during difficult or frustrating times, emphasizing the health benefits of letting everything out. The Hollywood actress reflected on her personal experiences and offered heartfelt advice on mental health through a social media post.
Mendes shared a photo with a poignant caption: “Let me cry,” she wrote. “When I cry, I don’t really like when people tell me not to cry. It’s usually said in a very loving way, so yes, that’s beautiful,” she explained. However, she stressed that, despite the good intentions behind such reassurances, she prefers to express her feelings fully.
“I love when a friend encourages me to let it all out,” Mendes confessed. She also highlighted her desire for her children to understand that showing emotions is natural and acceptable. “So I do the same to my kids. I advise them to keep crying as long as they need to. So I really appreciate these posts,” she concluded.
Eva Mendes and her husband, actor Ryan Gosling, are parents to two children, 9-year-old Esmeralda Amada and 8-year-old Amada Lee. The couple has been together since 2011, after meeting and falling in love on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines.
Gosling has previously spoken about how meeting Mendes changed his perspective on parenthood. In a 2023 interview with GQ, he shared, “I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her. There were moments on The Place Beyond the Pines where we were pretending to be a family, and I didn’t really want it to be pretend anymore.”
Through her candid reflections, Mendes continues to inspire others to embrace their emotions and prioritize their mental health, encouraging a more open and supportive approach to dealing with life’s challenges.
