RAMESWARAM, INDIA — Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi emphasized the importance of societal responsibility in addressing social challenges as he inaugurated the Manolaya Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre in Rameswaram on Sunday.
Speaking at the event, the Governor urged citizens to take an active role in solving issues rather than relying solely on government intervention.
“Instead of being dependent on governments for everything, people as a society should come forward to address certain issues they face and witness,” Ravi said.
He also highlighted the significance of compassion in human society, stating that empathy toward the suffering of others is what distinguishes humans from animals.
“When humans fail to display compassion towards their fellow beings, they cannot be counted as humans,” he remarked.
The newly inaugurated Manolaya Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre aims to provide critical support and care for individuals struggling with mental health challenges, further strengthening Tamil Nadu’s commitment to mental health awareness and rehabilitation services.
