Pepper’s A Safe Place, a mental health charity based in Oakham and Melton, is offering a variety of new group activities leading up to Christmas, providing local residents with opportunities to unwind, socialise, and manage seasonal stress.
On Tuesday, December 17th, the charity will host its 5 Ways to Wellbeing course from 10:30 AM to noon at its Oakham branch. Facilitated by Leicester Council, the session will introduce key wellness principles and is ideal for those new to wellbeing practices.
Later that day, a new walking group will meet from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The group aims to combine physical activity with social interaction, promoting overall health and mental wellbeing. The walks, organised in partnership with Active Rutland, will ensure participants receive the necessary support and guidance. After the inaugural walk, the group will continue regularly in January.
On Wednesday, December 18th, a mindfulness and meditation group, led by instructor Helen, will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The session will focus on breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and other mindfulness practices. This group will continue every Wednesday until Christmas.
Pepper’s A Safe Place also runs weekly mental health drop-in sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, offering individuals the chance to seek support either in group settings or one-on-one. These drop-ins will be available until Monday, December 23rd, and resume on January 2nd.
