DAYTON, OH — A new mental health and recovery center, Solace at Vivian’s, has officially opened on Troy Street in Dayton, offering specialized support for both children and adults struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.
The center, named in honor of the owner’s late mother, Vivian, who battled depression, mood swings, and alcohol dependence while raising three children, aims to provide accessible, evidence-based mental health services to those in need. Katrice Roper, the center’s Chief Nursing Officer, explained that the mission is deeply personal. “Mental health is near and dear to my heart. A lot of children are victims of issues with their parents or things they’ve been exposed to, and they don’t get the help they need. Being able to provide these services to them, as well as to adults, is a beautiful thing,” Roper said.
Support for Children and Adults
Solace at Vivian’s offers a comprehensive range of services for both children and adults. The center supports children in grades 3 through 8, as well as adults 18 years and older, addressing both mental health and substance abuse through evidence-based treatment programs. The center operates with a dedicated team of licensed medical professionals, including Roper and her daughter, Wynter, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who co-founded the organization.
Currently, the center accepts Medicaid patients, providing an important resource for those who may not have access to other forms of care. Patients can easily make appointments through the center’s online booking system.
With its opening, Solace at Vivian’s brings much-needed mental health services to the Dayton area, creating a safe space for individuals and families to begin their journey toward recovery.
